Who We Are
The Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center is a state-funded initiative through the Division of Banks and the Department of Housing and Community Development consisting of multiple collaborating partners located throughout the four Western Massachusetts counties.
The not-for-profit consumer-focused Center was launched in May 2008 by these respected public entities to assist homeowners of all income levels who fear they may be at risk of foreclosure.
Counseling through the Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center is confidential and free. If you are at risk of foreclosure, we recommend that you call as soon as possible, as there are more options open to you in the early stages of foreclosure.
Trained foreclosure prevention counselors provide confidential guidance to help address the needs of current homeowners facing possible mortgage defaults and foreclosures. The Center is also available to provide education for the next generation of homebuyers about the home buying process to ensure they succeed over the long term.
HAPHousing, the Region’s Housing Partnership, serves as the administrative agency for the Center.
The Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center is a collaboration of 15 non-profit agencies throughout Western Massachusetts.
